I am a second year International Communication student studying at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. I am writing you because of my interest in Archipelago.tv and perhaps being part of the team as an intern.

I have met you in Sagada, the Philippines in 2008, while I was doing an interview with a local filmmaker for a Filipino magazine. I have since worked with Filipino independent filmmakers as a project manager. After having met you and learning about your work with Al Jazeera and later on learning about the work of filmmakers in highlighting issues that might otherwise not make their way to the public eye, I have strived to be part of the (independent) media.

I regard (independent) media, websites such as archipelago.tv, as vital platforms for educating and enticing people to learn more about issues specific to South-East Asia.

I am eager to find out if there is a possibility of doing an internship at archipelago.tv.

Hope you are well. I’m in the process of lining up some filming in Mindanao for a Sky TV documentary and was wondering if you had a few moments to share some insight on the dos and donts of working there.

Your experience there seems far more in depth and extensive than most others so any nuggets of advice you can offer would be hugely appreciated!
